Executive Vice President
JMI Sports
Kate is responsible broadly for business operations across the company. She has a passion for integrating details into the big-picture goals of an organization’s mission, helping to turn new ideas into actionable, profitable business enterprise. Kate builds and manages the systems and tools that promote excellence in the workplace, increase employee satisfaction and retention, drive accountability, mitigate risk and protect the bottom line.
Since joining JMI Sports in 2008, Kate has been providing critical background structure to the company. As a member of the executive team, Kate is engaged in day-to-day operations as much as she is in future planning and strategy, focused on removing hurdles to success to achieve predictable and favorable outcomes for all.
Kate came to JMI Sports after more than a decade in the hospitality industry, previously working for one of San Diego’s top restaurant groups, Urban Kitchen. As General Manager of the group’s flagship restaurant, the Kensington Grill, Kate excelled at business management, employee retention, cost controls, and building longstanding and devoted clientele. Under Kate’s leadership, the restaurant received recognition as San Diego’s Best Neighborhood Restaurant by the California Restaurant Association every single year. Her experience in hospitality has been foundational to the development and implementation of JMI Sports’ “white glove” approach to partnerships and activation.
Kate has two bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, San Diego, in the fields of Political Science and Critical Gender Studies. She is based in Park City, Utah.
